If you have an interest in the Holocaust and would like to watch another powerful movie check out "The Boy in the Striped Pajamas." WOW. This movie was very moving! If you are more of a reader, this movie was actually a book first!

Monday - Essay Test (Explain how intolerance had been in issue in Canada from 1914 until 1945)

Tuesday/Wednesday - Schindler's List

Thursday - Finish Schindler's List (If not done by Wednesday)
Start Chapter 6 - Cold War (the late 1940s and 1950s)

This Week...

On Monday, during period 3 before lunch please go directly to the drama room. We will be listening to a Holocaust survivor speak about his experiences in a concentration camp. Remember to leave your cell phones in your lockers!

Also this week both classes will be having a Chapter 5 test. CO-OP - yours will be on Tuesday morning. Period 1 - yours will be on Friday. Start studying NOW :-)

That provincial exam is slowly creeping up so if you have not already done so, please go to the BC Ministry of Education website and work on some practice exams! There is a link on the left to get there!

History Channel...

So...I'm not promoting that you watch hours and hours of tv BUT the History Channel (ch. 44) has some AWESOME documentaries on Canadians in WWI and even current wars that are taking place. Some of the documentaries that I have taken a look at include: Passchendaele, Somme, Vimy, Convoys, and even the Scheldt and Italy! (Isn't it great that you know all of the mentioned things???)
