A Bit of Music....

I know that I probably had waaaayyyy more fun teaching about the 1980s and 1990s than you did learning about it - (although there were a few of you that were definitely trying not to burst out into dance during my lesson) - here are the videos to some of the songs that I shared in class! Enjoy them during your Christmas break while you work on your assignment :). 

Interestingly, the Backstreet Boys are the first on this list :-)....They beat "New Direction" any day :P

Essay topics....one more time!

I received two email about the essay topics not showing so thought i would post again.  Are you checking the blog on your iPhones??...because it works for me on the iPad and my laptop. But nonetheless, here they are!!

1. Explain how the contributions from the Canadian home front contributed to victory for World War One and two.

2. Discuss Canada's role in influencing the events of World War One and World War Two.

3. To what extent has Canada tolerated / not tolerated minorities and immigrants from 1910 to 1945.

These are very broad topics....this means you can talk about ALOT of stuff!! Plan it out before you come to class. The essay is NOT open notes.

It's crunch time!!!

Here are some study tips for you for over the weekend.

1. Study.
2. Create flash cards
3. Flip through the power points.
4. Complete the chapter booklets! I will collect your work and give you marks for your top two....if you complete all three there may be a mini-bonus available ;)
5. Email me if you have questions.
6. Choose an essay topic that you know you can write an essay on....write an outline for practice!!
7. Use the terms and big ideas sheets and check off things you know.
8. Get lots of sleep and bring water on Monday.
