As listed in my previous post you have a Government Unit Exam on Thursday (this week). I thought I would post some tips for studying.
1. Make flashcards for key words AND ideas.
2. Study with a friend from class using flashcards.
3. Read one section at a time (usually about 1 to 2 pages). As you read don't write notes - instead write questions that are based on what you are reading. For example, if you read a section that is based on the 5 main ideologies of the political spectrum, don't write down "the five main ideologies are communism, socialism, fascism, liberalism, and conservatism." Instead write down "what are the five main ideologies on the political spectrum?" or "what are the political beliefs of communist governments?" Trust me - this works!
4. Re-read the chapter.
5. Re-read your notes.
6. Re-read the powerpoints online (don't rely only on the powerpoints though!)
7. Go online to the BC Ministry of Education site (there's a link to the right of this post) and study questions 1 to 11 (approximately). These are all GOVERNMENT questions (on all four of the provincials that are online).
